Demand response (DR) is a practice energy consumers can adopt to reduce their electricity consumption in response to spikes in energy costs or requests from their system operator to reduce load on the grid.
Ontario has a unique demand response auction where energy consumers can bid in amounts of load they are willing to curtail in the event of a demand response request from the grid operator.
